Description of the Door Light switch

The door light switch is a small compact switch for mounting on a door frame so that lights can be operated when the door is opened. Ideal for wardrobes, cupboards, larders etc.

    An excellent small and neat switch for cupboard light use. The only small problem was the mounting holes, which are not very wide, but are very deep, so they need a long and thin screw - I had to drill them out with a slightly larger drill - which only took 10 seconds - pity the designers didn't do this for the buyers!

    I have recently installed one of these switches for the light in the under-stairs cupboard and have had no problems at all - it works well. The switch is decent piece of kit that does exactly what you would expect. The internal connections are solid and the plastic covering is fairly robust. The spring which acts to return the switch to the on position when released is pretty stiff (but not so that you have trouble closing the door), suggesting that this switch should last for a good few years to come.

    Slightly off topic, but perhaps appropriate here (and the motivation behind writing this review in fact).... Actually, I was quite impressed with UK automation. I had ordered two of these switches initially. The package arrived very quickly but unfortunately one of the switches was faulty. I contacted UK automation to ask where to return the faulty switch and within 24 hours they had responded offering to send a replacement straight away at no additional cost. This second package arrived the following day and it works fine. Full marks for customer service!

    The Door Light Switch is ideal for the cloakroom cupboard saving one having to switch the hall light on to see clearly.
