FAQs
My computer doesn't see the CM15Pro when I plug in the USB cable, is it faulty?
No. You need to make sure you connect the CM15Pro to your computer using the USB cable before you plug the CM15 into the mains.
Can I also import the settings of my old ActiveHome in the ActiveHomePro?
Yes, this is possible. To do this, check the help file of Active Home Pro under “Getting Data from Previous Versions”
Do I always have to leave my computer on to make the Timers and Macro’s work?
You can make ActiveHome Pro save the timer’s schedules and Macro Events in the CM15Pro Interface memory, so that they run even when your computer is turned off.
Is there a Software Developers Kit for Marmitek ActiveHome Pro?
Yes there is. Use it to develop your own applications that work with Marmitek ActiveHome Pro. Go to Http://www.marmitek.com/nl/software/ahsdk_install.zip for more information on the Marmitek ActiveHome Pro SDK.
Will Marmitek ActiveHomePro work with the CM11 ?
No. Marmitek ActiveHomePro is designed specifically for features and advanced electronics available only in the new USB Computer Module (CM15Pro). The USB Computer Module (CM15Pro) includes RF send and receive capabilities, as well as the ability to monitor all 256 house/unit codes at the same time, and 800% more memory.
Will Marmitek ActiveHomePro work with Windows 7 ?
Yes it will but make sure you are running Version 3.267 or newer of the software

No real problems except loading the software, when inserting the USB cable and downloading the driver
appeared to be time critical. What happened to the uninstall software?

I previously owned a CM10 interface (COM port) and needed a USB version as my new machines do not have COM ports. The CM15Pro is an excellent piece of kit - installation and setup are straight-forward and easy. The device 'just works'!
The supplied software was much better than the original software packaged with the CM10 when I bought it several years ago. Again, very simple to install and use.
Highly recommended for anyone wanting to control multiple X10 devices with a lot of flexibility.

After a few years with a rather dodgy IR light dimming system, I took the plunge (was forced to by wife) and decided to try out the x10 system. Together with a light dimming module, I had it working in minutes. So much better than before. Me happy:wife happy

I had orignally the old interface (pre USB) and obviously as computers improved this unit got left behind, however on 1st impressions this new (to me) CM15Pro is a much better device and at Xmas switching on and off my christmas lights will once again become a breeze ... I am a big fan of X10 and long may its developments continue.

I found the instructions a little awkward to follow but once I had worked out how to use it all seems easy enough to use.

Excellent piece of kit. No problems installing, if you follow the order of the instructions.
A couple of times the controller has "gone to sleep", and failed to keep running the macros. Still not sure what may have caused these two outages. But it continues to switch lights on at dusk matching the changing seasons. Very impressive.
Had a little trouble in setting up the X10 device house codes etc., initially, but an e-mail to Marmitek brought out a macro for achieving this (why don't they include this in the base software?).
Have not used the wireless capabilities, as I only required the macros, timers, to control the house when I am not around.
And great and friendly setvice from UK-Automation, too!

Best X10 Product yet.
Super fast delivery - even though it was free postage and second class it still arrived the next day.
Thanks

Installed first time in Vista.
Easy to use, as it comes with a couple of built in macros to test devices with.
Has some sample macros, but lacks any information on how to build a macro!
Be careful not to plug the interface into a filtered power supply, as it will not work.
Dawn till dusk setups are simple to achieve.

A very good piece of hardware to complete my lights automation system. Easy to install, ready to go!

Plugged in and working! The supplied software installed and connected fine under windows vista. The interface itself is a little gaudy, but fairly straightforward once you get used to it. So far I have tried out simple computer based commands (unlikely to use the software itself for this), tested out setting up timers (unlikely to use this feature) and set up a macro (quite useful as I am not able to do this under linux - see below) to allow me to set a switch address to "all on/off". This has allowed me to use a wireless switch near the door to activate both the two nearest lights (for entry) and all the lights (for exit).
I have also started experimenting under linux, which is my preferred operating system. I first tried installing the supplied software under wine - this went through the install process fine but was not able to display properly. I then looked at a program called 'Heyu'. Although there are some reports of people writing drivers for the CM15, this is not what is has been designed around and therefore it didn't work out of the box. Finally I tried out a program called 'mochad' which worked straight away. It needs a little command-line setup, but it's fairly straightforward. My next job is to run it on a web server to allow internet access!
All in all, no real problems to report so far.
