  1. Some problems installing it, and it's wobbly, but works fine

Posted by John W on 21st Jan 2012

The instructions for using the ActiveHome Pro software to set the address of this device do not work for the CM15Pro. A reviewer on this website pointed me at the “Articles” which included different instructions which – with a little modification – did work. Here are the steps which worked for me:

Having created a Lamp Module with your chosen address ...
    • Create a new macro
    • Click 'simple interface' button, then ‘next’
    • Give the macro a name, and change the Trigger to something different from your chosen address (*)
    • Check 'Macro resides in' specifies My Room
    • In the right-most “Conditions” box, select My Room
    • Drag the Lamp Module icon from the right into the main box on the left
Make sure the 'ON' button on this is selected
    • Drag the Delay box on the right to beneath the Lamp Module box, then set it to 1 second delay (not 1 minute)
    • Drag another Lamp Module, then another Delay, then another Lamp Module
    • Make sure all Lamp Modules are set ON
    • Return to My Room, which should contain the new macro.
    • Make sure the Lamp Module switch is OFF
    • Switch off your (real) lamp for a few seconds then switch it on
    • Press the 'Run Macro' button; the Lamp Module switch should go ON, and the light should come on.
    • The (real) Lamp Module should now be set with the address you’ve chosen.

(*) When it was set to the same as the Lamp Module address, I couldn’t stop the macro running; even when I switched off the Lamp Module on screen, it switched it back on!

I'm using the module in a table lamp (rather than hanging from a ceiling fitting) and as the bayonet fitting has some movement, the module wobbles - especially with the weight of a lampshade. I've addressed this by using some bluetack just above the bayonet fitting.

After struggling changing the address I contact UK Automation who gave me a couple of pointers. Under the Articles section on the UK Automation home page and customer questions. It explains perfectly how to program the Bayonet first time. I’ve now got several working round the house with no problems.
    Thanks for the tech support.

No idea yet if the plug in modules are any use - I can't get any software to work with the CM11U controller under windows 7. Keep plugging away though. I'm resorting to a .Net SDK to see if I can create a decent bit of software, but it will take quite some time I suspect...
