Description
The Z-Wave to IR Extender is ideal for interfacing your Air conditioning IR controlled equipment with your Z-Wave system. It can also feedback the room temperature to your Z-wave controller so you don't need a seperate sensing unit for that.

Works only with aircon, quite difficult to configure

This IR extender only works with aircon, the name is a little misleading. It requires reading the manual to know how to configure it. It doesn't just work out of the box.
If you want to control your AV equipment such as TV, BlueRay players, cable box, etc. this is not the correct hardware. You should get SQ Blaster for those.
The battery mounting is rather strange, but I guess most users won't be using the battery option as there is an alternative MiniUSB port for power. Yes, it's MiniUSB, not the more popular MicroUSB used by most Android devices nowadays.
