Features

  • The X10 Lamp Module (LM12U) provides On/Off and dimming control of incandescent lighting.
  • Designed to operate with 230V AC 40W to 300W incandescent lamps

The X10 lamp module (LM12U) is a 300W receiver unit that can work as a remote dimmer. The connected lamp can still be switched on and off locally. The dimmer function, however, requires an X10 remote control like the KR22E Keyfob Remote. The dimmer module can be used at any wall sockets in the house with incandescent lamps between 40W and 300W.

Please note that the Lamp Module is only for use with lamps and is not suitable for appliances or Energy saving bulbs.

As the X10 dimmer is simply inserted into wall sockets like an ordinary plug, there is no installation to be carried out. Just set the wheels on the front to the desired device address.

The lamp connected to the dimmer module can still be controlled locally by its own switch, but dont forget to leave the local switch in the "ON" position, as otherwise the lamp cannot be controlled by an X10 controller. Switch the lamp off by remote control. The unit responds to "standard" X10 commands. ie. All-Lights-On, All-Units-Off, On, Off, Bright and Dim.

Please note that the Lamp Module is only for use with lamps and is not suitable for appliances or Energy saving bulbs.

Works as expected and quicker than expected shipping from UKAutomation. No problems using and controlling this device connected to a CM11 controlled off a computer. A great starter to home automation, but once a proof of concept is working I\'ll definitely be moving to hidden inline modules. Just one thing to add that this control doesn\'t seem to respond to status enquiries (or it may and my code is just currently not working)... so something to remember should you need to read current dim level/etc. within your application.

This module does what it says on the tin. It's more convenient than the ones that hide behind the socket because we found that we were always moving the lamps around. When combined with the bedroom controller, you get woked by the arrival of gentle light rather than the clunk of a relay switching over. It's a pity that it can never work with LED lights and that there are no figures for the standby energy consumption.
