Description

This thermostat can replace most common residential thermostats and is designed to be used with electric, gas or oil heating control system or cooling systems.

Unlike those ordinary single unit designed thermostats, this is a new type of thermostat separating the thermostat function into two units. The Receiver serves for wiring connections and heat/cool on/off control. The Control Center serves as user interface and temperature sensing / control. The two units are linked by RF. The advantage of this is that user can put the Control Center nearby and can read / control the temperature of any room in the home.

  Does what it says on the tin. The receiver box is deeper than it looks in the pics- not a problem if you're stashing it in a cupboard but a bit bulky if it is visible. Range is good as is channel separation- I've put 2 in and both controllers work from anywhere in the (3 bed terrace) house. Programming is easy, the 'frost' setting (or whatever it calls it, can't remember now) is useful. Couple of limitations- There are 9 programmes in the thing but only 3 are user configurable and the 6 manufacturer ones aren't that useful. You only have 2 temperature options- 'frost' setting and 'heating on' setting (so you can't be subtle and have heating cooler in the day than the evening). There is an Advance setting (override till next programmed action) but no Boost setting- so if you just wanted an hours extra heat you need to remember to prod the button on your way out of the door. But these are niggles really- it is easy to use, solved a mojor problem (taken the wall away so nowhere to put room stat) and good value.

  Very useful device where the existing thermostat is in an unsuitable position. If you have thick stone walls between the sender and receiver then needs careful positioning to ensure signal goes through apertures.

  The Thermostat does exactly what it says on the box, it is easy to install and works perfectly. The range of programmes available plus the custom options make the unit very flexible and perfect for most every application. In all money well spent, I would recommend it to anyone.

  Quick delivery, good price and it all worked - that's a good start. All working in my flat with a combi boiler. I give it 8 out of 10. In more detail: I particularly liked the profile concept and the display so you knew what the on/off times were for that day. I also liked the use of standard batteries and the advanced features - No Volt contacts, advance and frost protection. Major flaw was no overide on the receiver unit. If the thermostat goes wrong you will have to move wires to get the heating to work (uses Normally Open contacts - need to close to operate boiler). Improvements: at least 7 programmable profiles (one for each day of the week), finer timing (say 15 minute slots - not 1 hour), temperate option for each time change (can only choose eco/comf) and configuration in flash memory (not lost when batteries die). Transmitter unit could be smaller, no drop in bracket for wall mounting, poor acces to main unit (poor release catch, use battery compartment lid that also allows access to links and microswitches). Manual was ok but needs a rethink - little mention of cooler application and viewing programme settings. Hope this helps Howard

  No doubt a great piece of kit-does what it says it will do and here is the good news a lot less expensive than at B and Q or indeed anywhere I checked. Carriage was free although I did pay a little for fast 1st class delivery. Nice Company to do business with! By the way I am just an ordinary householder not a company.
