Overview
The XM10 powerline interface is a universal interface which allows any OEM product to transmit and receive data compatible with the X10 system.
The XM10 sends and receives X-10 signals. It plugs into an AC outlet and connects to the OEM product via an RJ11 telephone jack (neither the plug nor the RJ11 connecting lead are supplied). The XM10 Interface can also read it's own error detection and contention resolution into the software or firmware.

Details
The Two-way PLC interface(XM10) has been designed for controller manufacturers to implement X10 PLC control. The functionality of the PLC control is decided by the controller manufacturer and implemented in the controller panel. An accompanying document defines the interface that the user will need for implementing X10 control.
With a control panel which has been designed to interface with X10 PLC, the installation is simple. Just plug the XM10 into the 230V power supply and use a telephone cable to connect the XM10 RJ11 socket to the control panel.
A red LED will glow when power is being received by the XM10. It will flash slowly when X10 signals are being exchanged.
Please note: The timing critical nature of communication with this device requires low level hardware programming experience. It may also require dedicated microprocessor time. It is not recommended for casual programmers.
The XM10 is the European equivalent for the US TW523 model.
Specification
Supply Voltage: 230V +10%-15%50Hz
Ambient Temperature: -10°C to +40°C (operation)
-20°C to +70°C (storage)
Min.logic "1": 4V input will sink approx 2.5mA
Max.Logic "1": 20V input will sink approx 18mA
Max.logic "0": 0.8Vwill sink approx 0.1mA
(Voltages and currents with respect to terminal 2)
Note: this output is an open collector transistor. Therefore, the logic "1" voltage is quoted as a reference for defining the output leakage current. An output pullup resitor is required to generate a logic level. The pullup can be returned to any voltage up to 20V with respect of terminal 2.
HF output to AC powerline: 60mW average into 5 ohms load (5Vpk-pk instant)
Conformity: Class 116 of EN50065-1
Carrier frequency: 120kHz ±2Khz
Width of X10 envelope: 1ms+100 sec-50 sec
Isolation voltage: 4kV rms 50Hz for 1 min.
Approvals: CE approved
Max phase delay between 0 crossing point of AC
power line and 0 crossing detect output(either
