Z-Wave Water/Gas Valve Actuator - Popp 009501
Worried about water leaks, gas leaks, or want more control of your garden irrigation? If so, the Popp Flow Stop actuator is the device you need.
Using Z-Wave secure control, you can now automate any pipework with a lever action stop valve, such as the shut-off valves for gas supplies or the cut-off valves commonly found on dishwasher and washing machine feed pipes.
This neat actuator works from a DC mains power block, and has a geared high torque motor to enable it to shut off the flow of a pipe on command.
You can use Z-Wave associations to pair this device up directly with a flood sensor - such as the Fibaro Flood Sensor - to automatically stop the water to a device should a leak be detected.
You could also use this on a gas mains feed valve, along with a smoke sensor, to shut off the gas automatically in the event of a house fire.
The Popp Flow Stop will fit on all common pipe diameters, including 1/2" and 3/4" pipes, and it's affixed externally onto the pipe so there is no requirement to dismantle pipework or drain systems, and the device can be fitted within 10 minutes.
Even though the Motor requires only 12 Volt (1A), it has a high power output as well as high torque, which reliably closes the ball valve in just 10 seconds. Also a manual closing of the valve is possible in case of power failure – thanks to the clutch release bearing.
